K24/18g vs Tial GT28 "alpha," what i'v learned.
#91
against a 24/18g with stock injectors or larger ones? on pump gas or race tune?
#92
A flashed 997 tt is a joke for a k24/18g car with even 5 bar. I know my car is way faster than that. It just takes some practice to get 6 sec times and I am working on it.
#93
I understand that the 24/18's are capable of a lot, but just a 5 bar and no injector upgrade then? No race file? Pump gas file and stock injectors and it beats a 997tt flashed? I just like to see accuracy in reporting. It's like a 997tt running NOS and saying it beat a 24/18 car easily. Well yeah, but what conditions?
#94
he was running E85 when he ran 6.08....kind of irrelevant to this conversation IMO b/c this discussion is about pump gas times...

Very nice and interesting thread...i would like to add some comments...
1)Scott is right at what he says...Except for car lengths...You see when a car has 60-130 in 7sec in 900feet and the other in 9sec in 1100feet...200 feet is not the distance between them...in order to find out the distance when the first car reaches 130 you have to goto the seconds car graph, and find at time value 7sec how many feet this car has distanced...This is the distance between these cars...You have to keep the time constant to both cars to determine differences in feet...
2)60-130 measure is a great measure to see your CARS power and torque throughout the whole rpm band...driver interference is minimum(only full throttle and just one shift)and this is the reason this measure identifies how fast a car is from roll start...The opinion that 60-130 measure needs almost the same driver efford and skill as 1/4mile drag strip just makes me laugh...Whoever believes that has not drag race even once for sure...
3)I only did 3 60-130 pulls with my car...no special techniques,no tricks...just third and 40mph,floor it and make a very fast shift...thats all...the first was 7,04 without injectors and the other was 6,32...thats all...However there are drivers with worse 60-130 time who will pass me on a dragstrip...(including my friend madsex343) because they now better how to start their car from a standstill...So please lets just realise that some cars may be faster than others...and not trying to blame the driver...if somebody wants me to determine car distances, please go ahead and send me files to tell you the exact differences in feet when the first car reaches 130mph...

I agree, some cars are faster than others but if I can make my 60-130 time variable by starting at different speeds, this does not mean my car makes different power on each run.

So, are you saying that if I start at 55mph and get an 8 sec 60-130 time, then go out and do it from 25mph (which is what people here are saying you need to do) and run a 7.3 sec, my car is making more power on the second run? Of course not, it's the technique (providing the 3-4 shift is consistent).

no just that if you use the one shift technique, it will be more apples to apples. But ot really, because if you run pump gas File and the other guy runs a race file, the comparison doesn't mean much. It's like doing the skid pad in one car on street tires and in the other on slicks. worthless comparison.

It's not a difficult technique but there are different techniques that result in different times - none of them are difficult but they do result in variability.
#103
ok...then just go out, turn on your Pbox and floor it at 35mph to see your actual 60-130 time...before this thread has 100pages...
It's not a puzzle! But if you read the threads before, there is HUGE variability if you start at 35-40mph vs. 55 mph.

Pump+ meth is = to race gas.
Pump without meth is not.
