K24/18g vs Tial GT28 "alpha," what i'v learned.
Yesterday, me and a few friends got together and decided to do some pulls and see the difference between a K24/18g car and a GT28alpha.
There were three cars total:
1) K24/18g @1 bar 6-speed
2) K24/18g @1.3 bar, larger injectors 6-speed
3) GT28 alpha @ 1.2 bar, larger injectors, meth injection tiptronic
All cars were EPL tuned and running 93 oct gas.
First pull was between GT28 and the 1.3 bar car at third gear about 45 mph. The 1.3 bar car pulls ahead 1 car and stays that way till 130ish.
Second pull same thing, same result.
Third pull 1 bar car vs 1.3 bar car third gear 45ish-140ish.
DEAD EVEN. Not sure why, 1bar car feels very strong. (factory freak?)
Forth Pull 1.3 car vs GT28 car 2nd gear 25mph-120mph.
GT28 car pull three car lengths on the 1.3 bar car immediately and then stays that way. The quickness of the spool is very apparent.
Final pull 1.3 car vs GT28 car 50ish-160ish third gear.
Cars are dead even, GT28 starts to pull ahead around 150ish. 1.3 bar car shuts down shortly after. I was in the zone and took her to 189. She is fast up top.
CONCLUSION:
The GT28 turbos spool quicker than the k24/18g cars and will get the lead if you start from stop (drag race) or in lower RPM's. However, once both cars are in their efficiency range they are pretty even. The tip car has larger driveline loss, therefore, if the GT28 turbos were on a 6speed they would be stronger and provide more area under the curve.
I will do a rematch and hopefully get some good videos next time.
The difference will be
Tip car running at 1.3-1.4 bar. TCU calibration for 7200rpm redline and quicker shifting.
1.3 bar car on 100 oct.
And we had Markski's V-box all three cars were running between 7.9-8.8 60-130mph. None of us ever used it before and not sure if there is a way to calibrate it, the box is screwed up, some type of testing method we don’t know, some magic trick, or dare I say people are sandbagging.
If we are doing everything right, I would love to run one of the cars that are running 6 sec 60-130mph with the same hardware and see them walk away from me by 10-20 cars.
These are just my thoughts and results. I dont want to start any flames. Please feel free to post you thoughts and suggestions.

Hey Vince -
It's Jason from last night. Fun runs for sure.
I agree with all your comments above!
I don't post much but I will say: There is NO WAY other K24/18g cars are running so much more HP than my car that they will be 2 seconds faster from 60-130. At those speed, that's like 20 car lengths.
As I said last PM, something fishy is going on.
Either:
1. We are using the box wrong
2. All of our cars are really slow
3. People are using different techniques to get fast 60-130 times.
Either way, it was fun and I agree - I'd like to see one of these k24/18g cars that run 6 sec 60-130 times beat me by 20 car lengths! If they do, I'm sending my car to their tuner

Temp: 65 F, 580ft asl, 59% humidity.
I agree with Vince . The GT28 excels only in the low rpms...races starting at 3k rpms the results are even.
Also a 18g at 1.2 bar is even to 1 bar car unless we run race gas. The car pulls timing, so no use of running more boost unless you are running race gas.
Oh ...we forgot mention...Vince pulled hard on a modded Supra and Ducati 996.
its sucks all of our cars are about as fast as a flashed 997tt

Since 60-130 is a measure of time between two different speeds rather than time over a distance, two seconds difference is no where near 20 car lengths. I dont have my data handy at work but I think from my runs 0.5s is roughly one car length (15ft) by the time the winning car gets to 130 mph. So 2s difference may be ~4 car lengths approx.

Not possible the gallardo runs 170 trap.

Now this sounds about right. But i cant see a similarly setup car leaving our cars by 10 car lengths.

But my statement is made regarding cars that run 6-8s in 60-130 like most of ours do. As you progressively get faster (like 4s example you use) the distances will be greater than I stated. IOW 2 sec difference at the 4s 60-130 level is a greater distance between the cars than 2s differnce between cars at a 10s 60-130 level.

The box is good... LOL

Guys, running your best 60-130 time doesn't happen over night. It really depends on practice to hit 60 mph at the sweet spot. Keep trying, nothing fishy. You're box is fine..
