Nitto offers a 295/35 in the Invo, which will run a nearly identical fitment to a 295/30 PS2 because the Invo's have a slimmer sidewall profile. On paper, that's roughly a 15mm difference in sidewall height, but given the slightly more aggressive profile of the Invo's, the overall fitment will be very similar.

Personally, I think the Invo's are highly underrated. Bang for the buck, they are a great tire.

TireRack 592 + 61 shipping.

My Yokohama's were almost 500 for 1 rear tire if I remember correctly....

I looked at Tire Rack, but when I ran the search by tire sized there were a lot of blank spaces in the 315 categories other than for Michelin and one other.
Kumho XS works. Positive's great grip in the dry and cost is reasonable. Negative's sucky wet tire and they wear pretty fast.

Maybe the new Hankook RS-3 will eevntually come in 315's like the RS-2. I am also pushing my Yokohama rep to get them to produce a 315/30 18 AD08 which would be awesome.

wow Just read the whole article now, and the PS2's got owned.

Damon, can you comment on running 295's on 11.5 in rears? I am running PS2's now but I can't see any reason to stay with them other then tire size..

I called Damon at the Tire Rack and had the cost versus PS2 discussion with him and here's what he suggested as a potentially good alternative. When I saw the final price for all four INCLUDING shipping, that was as much as I paid for just the two rear Michelins:

Here you go Chuck -

Call me if interested.

235/40R18 KU ECSTA XS XL 151.00
315/30R18 KU ECSTA XS 305.00

Mds Total. 912.00
Sales Tax. .00
Tire Fee . .00
Excise Tax .00

Ship Total 55.81

Total Due. $967.81

This is probably what I'm going to do next time around. There isn't much info out on the tire because it's too new to the marketplace....but by the time I run the extra 6K miles it'll take to wear out my Michelins, there should be more relevant and timely info available.

Thumbs up Tire Testing PS2 Comparision

Just read the new Issue "Car & Driver" Aug 2009 In conjuction with Tire Rack, tested
9 High Performance tires with the benchmark Tire Michelin PS2. Skidpad, g wet & dry results. Very informative and some what surprising. Hankook V12 Evo rated #2 0.87g wet...93g dry. PS2 #1 wet #4 dry 0.92g. Kumho #1 dry 0.94 # 9 wet 0.77g.
A set of Hankook's can be bought for under $800 + S/H 235/35/19 & 305/30/19.
They rated the Dunlop Star Spec #1 in the overall test, but limited tire sizes at this time.
