The Shootout Winner Will Be!
#16
I voted to Stephen at Imagine Auto. He has more knowledge of Porsche engines than anyone I know and he is a super nice guy. Plus...I happen to know for a fact that he will have the most killer looking car at the event... wait and see!

Where is Heinz and Gemballa (probably have more "important" things to do)? Where's the "badass" 233mph 9ff car? RuF won't send a car because they have too much to loose and nothing to gain- so no suprises there. Basically this shoot out has been on the cards for almost a year so why more tuners aren't onboard I don't know... Surely is a slow and ghey tiptronic can enter then anyone else should be chomping at the bits! One thing for sure is the caliber of car coming this year is way stronger than last year...
I'm sure it'll still be fun but it's too bad so many folks are pulling out.
PS CJV, I'm still hoping you'll make a special "guest" appearance

Sorry, but there won't be a last minute appearace. The change to the oval bearing dictated smaller rod journals and in turn different Pauter rods. We won't see these rods until December. We currently have the Pauter rods for the GT3 crank and 996tt pistons which was the original plan. Don't really want to build this motor twice just for the shootout.
We will be running the car in January at both the track and the strip. We will make some video's that show KA in action as well as the times produced.
I believe you are right on about Protomotive and EVO. I have to give Protomotive the edge because their past experience.

I voted for Alex, hoping against hope, that the tip would hold-up and kick a little dose of reality into the tip bashers corner. Best of luck to everyone anyway, and, Alex, keep a stiff upper lip mate.

some people are more into show some people are not. in this case we're not & that doesn't mean anyone is afraid of anything. u know better how much time & money have been invested into this shootout to every tuners. i just can't justify that at this point consider we're fairly new. anyway, who care who wins at the end as long as we all have fun!

It is unfortunate that my car could not be made ready in time, and we did not want to show up to a Shootout half-cocked.
If it was ready, Lucent would have an entry and it would do very well.
That being said, in terms of sheer power and straightline performance, I doubt anybody on the list will touch Protomotive. But we will see.
I hope there is a Shootout after this one.

Personally I only entered to have fun. If my car does well that's just pooring gravy on all the fun. What I enjoyed last year was seeing what my car was capable of and meeting really nice people.
I expect nothing less this year. Oh actually I do, Olympic Gardens, Crazy Horse 2

Tyson,
no excuse for us. i don't want to do it because of so many factors & u know better. can't just have the shop close-down for few days just to go to the shoot out. biz is biz customer is still the first & our fun is second. plus i don't really care who wins just like Fred says, it's a very fun thing for all of us & everyone will be the winner!

if Lucent was there i would be waving the lucent flag
i think protomotive will be a great competitor since they won last years shootout w/ tyson's old turbo , i like their concept of using japanese style tuning, (i.e. external wastgate, blowoff valves, larger turbos.) (correct me if im wrong tyson did u have to4's in your car druing the shoot out) i just like the creativity...
On this shoot out, i will be backing alex "sharky" ross the akkurat blinger with the ghey tronic, i belive on the "little tiptronic that could"
after riding on a chipped tippy.. i could end up being a believer
go get them alex.. !!!
