19" or not?

love the 19" looks. however, i don't know how bad the ride comfort is going to be compare with 18" stock.

anyway, for those people with 19"s, do u regret the 19" & want to go back to 18"?

P.S. chris, i know u did it

Ihad 19'' wheels on my car until i sold them yesterday..i put my stock wheels back on until wed, when my new one's come in..the ride is the same to me,but i noticed one thing..the stock 18's absorb a bump better..i still would put 19's on the car..it makes it look awesome..

As I understand it, if you want to run a sticky compound tire (R compound, DOT approved), you have to stick with 18s. So I went with 18s. But, the 19s look fantastic.

I loved the 19s on my 996 Cab but the NY roads weren't conducive to them and it was a very rough ride. At the time it was my daily driver, now that I have a second car I am flirting with the idea of going back to 19s, because I loved the look and handling!

Personally, I like the solid feel of the 19" especially on tight twisty roads much quicker steering response. The soft side wall flex of the 18" give a buttery feel, also the 19" look great on the street. For all out performance the 18" are awsome with a stiff sidewalled tire.

I don't know the answer to this but some folks have said that the 18 inch combo actually is a better performer than the 19 incher. Can someone respond to that? Also haven't some people had problems with the 19's rubbing and having blowouts??

Thanks!

looks are 19 i guess, but as your need for pure performance increases, you are forced back to 18. 19's as Oak says limit your ultimate performance, absent the cost and fitment issues. maybe Roland will comment?

I went to 19's and besides the issue of getting rubber for the rears I am pleased. Not that much different in ride. If your not going to track your car I would go with 19's. If you are going to track your car go with 19's and keep your stock 18's for the track. You would want different rubber anyways. IMHO of course

19s sell by far more than 18s for ALL 996 cars.
