I picked the GIAC chip after hearing some problem stories about the Upsolute chip. Speed Gallery does the Giac for about 2k. (Yeah, I know, I'll hear from all the people who will say I was totally ripped off on price, or bought the wrong chip.) By the way, I also replaced the stock diverter; what a cheap piece of plastic!

I think the Ferrari 575 is one of the UGLIest cars made by Ferrari. I would rather drive a 996TT anyday of the week. But ive driven both, and against a 996TT that is stock, not an X-50, the 575 will win easily. Against an X-50, from a dead stop, it would be a drivers race, from a roll, the 575 will win again. The Murci will ruin both of them.

I agree - I love the 575 (actually like the 550 more especially the front lip)

I'll note that it's snowing here and you're in Maui, only slightly jealous (and at my altitude you need forced induction).

But...Not yet in possession of my 996tt, and not having driven an x50 equipped car or a 575M, I find it unlikely that the non-X50 equipped 996tt is 1.3 seconds slower to 100mph than the X50 equipped machine. I may be wrong. The X50 tested had the stock brakes (not PCCB).

agreed, the 575 is a piece of art

LOL Allan...

You're wrong man. It may feel faster, but it's not.

Not in one test or anywhere does it beat the 996 TT. Every track time I've seen or read is slower too.

No. This is not mag racing. This is truth. Stock 996TT punched from 80mph is a dog. 575 is substantially quicker if you take away a 996TT owners launch with awd.

There is no truth to your statement.

I think the part about wanting to drive a 996tt is the truth. And the butt-dyno is probably a good measure of fun and perceived quickness. And I agree, if there is someone out there with a Gtech that wants to test the two from 80-100, I'm happy to see the results. I will try to scan in the graphs and overlay them from the article.

550/575 is the best looking Ferrari imo, in fact I personally think it is the best looking car period. only in red though.

Over the course of a year or so now I have been patient with your usual rant about how fast this is compared to that and your one sided opinion....While Porsche will never be able to outshine the looks and lines of Italy's finest (much love and respect) the "P" in Performance will always be 1st in Porsche and at the Finish line

LOL...

The Murci won't ruin the x-50 either. The x-50 actually beat the Murci 0-100 in that issue of R&T that's scanned up on here. I'm sure there must been some sort of mistake there though, like the Lambos shifter fell off or the track was wet, hah.
