In my 2000 Esprit, they dyno approx 300rwhp, i raced a 2002 Z06. We raced several times all sorts of mph to right around 160mph. We were dead even. Whoever got the jump always kept it. It was a great race, we could actually be looking over at one another though each shift. I raced another Z06 that had a few mods, nothing major and it beat me by 2 cars up into triple digits. Now i know the 996TT is quicker than a stock Z06, but not that much quicker, and i would definately beaten the modded Z06 pretty good with an additional 50rwhp.

Now before anyone jumps on saying that im trying to say the Esprit is a better car than the 996TT, im not. I know the Porsche is definately a better car, but for what i wanted, the Esprit fit my needs better as being just a unique toy to play with. I do however think that using simple power to weight, in a straightline race, a 996TT driver would be very suprised. I think the Esprit might just win.

 

I love the Esprit I looked at one before buying my tt. I would not trade my tt for one but wouldn't mind owning one as an addition. The bad thing about that last statement is I say that about alot of cars. I am going to need a massive garage and a lot more money!

that vid the 996tt is tiptronic? anyone notice that? could that have something to do with the race outcome?

 

Wow, all that vid shows is that the NSX is much better than expected. I'm going to dig through my wifes purse and find the keys to hers. I must have missed something the last time I drove it.
