E-Brake assy

How hard is it to change the emergency brake assembly on a 996? Does anyone have a schematic for this?

Thanks
JD

This is very easy. You will need to remove the center console. Here are the instructions I used to remove the center console. These are from B&M:
www.bmracing.com/bmracing/installation_instruction

There are just two bolts that fasten the brake to the floor and the old one will come out. If I remember correcly, you need to pop the top off the "U" shaped piece in picure 7 & 8 in the instrcutions above.Slip the brake cable onto the "U" shaped piece in picture 7 & 8 of the new brake. Tighten the rear bolt first. The front can be a little tricky due to space, you may need to use a box wrench to tighten it down enough so you can lift the lever to get a socket in there.

*Just work of advice, you do not need to loosen the nuts you see in picture 7.
