PSS9 Install in Chicago

Perfect Power in Libertyville. It's more than simply installing the kit. A proper install really requires alignment and corner wieghing the car. Sol Snyderman really knows what he is doing. Give him a call at 847/367-8837. By the way, he is a 6speedonline sponsor. He installed the Ruf version of the Pss9 on my car and I am very happy with it and his set up.

I live in central Illinois, and tried the Porsche X73 suspension on my car this past spring. After about 2 days of driving on what they call roads in my area, I found the suspension to be too stiff, so I converted back to stock. How does your PSS9 ride? I'm looking to lower the car to ROW or slightly lower levels, but I don't want to feel like someone is hitting the top of my head with a mallot everytime I cross an expansion joint.
Interested in your thoughts regarding the ride with PSS9.
Cheers,

last911: I like the way the car handles. As I indicated, my system is the Ruf PSS9-based system. I don't know if there is any difference in spring rates or shock set-up between the Ruf system and basic PSS9 system. In any event, I have had the system on my car since April of this year. I'm running stock turbo wheels/tires. As such, my conclusions are based on the suspension system itself w/o the influence of a lighter wheel or more aggressive wheel/tire setup. Although the car is considerably lower than stock, it is quite compliant. I am running stock front sway bar with Ruf's adjustable rear bar set on the middle setting. The car is certainly stiffer; cornering is quite flat. As with most suspension systems, setup is very important. A knowledgable installer with experience who has seen such systems used in a variety of situations is critical. It's one of the reasons real world racing experience counts for a lot. It's one of the reasons I like Perfect Power, Sol Snyderman has been setting up Porsches for racing for many years. He builds cars that really have to work not just look good as static displays.

Go to perfect power for sure, sol probably has the most experience. I use Kerry at Napleton Porsche for regular service, but like a typical porsche dealership they charge way too much and they do not do that much modding.

I called Sol, and he was very honest in the fact that he KNOWS his Porsches, but has only done 1-2 PSS9 installs on an M3. So, I'll probably be getting them installed somewhere else, but when I get a Porsche, Sol will be the guy I call first.

1, 2, 1000, it makes no difference. When the guy is good, he is good. Use Perfect Power.
My mechanic performs first time installs better than mechanics who performed 100 of the same install.

Sorry dude did not realize it was a BMW you were asking about. Installing a complete suspension is not that diffacult to install there are no mods. that need to be done to the car or parts that go with PSS9 kit, what is important is to find a guy that can perform a good alignment, and with PSS 9 you are nott getting complete performance unless you corner balance the car. There is a great shop in the west suburbs call Fisher Motorsports, call Rick or Peter, they do alot Porsche and BMW race prep. These guys will give you good price and the job will be done corect.(847) 304-8822
