Amadeo ran that? I have no idea what he did to it but that is the fastest recorded time of an SLR i know of. Cant be stock!! Knowing him he must of done something to it! He suffers from the same sickness you do! And has the $$ to sustain his "bad" habit!! lol... you ppl make me ill!! lol !!!

The owner of that SLR is let say... A person with the means to do what he wants when he wants to that thing. If its stock, i dont know (doubt it) but, he is a go fast junkie and does like to play!! So wouldnt doubt if he dropped serious work into it. He is that guy! All in good fun!

 

That's great! I have driven a couple of them at the track and they are great/fast cars. (Which were trapping at 128 in stock form in AZ elevation and temps, ET's were in the mid 11's) I had never heard of one in the 10's which is really good. My buddy Allan had some bolt on Kleeman mods done to his and his ET's improved .5 sec (11.02 )from when we ran it stock and his trap improved 1 MPH (129) after the mods were completed. Traction is a big issue (in stock or modded form) and part of the reason we were not able to get it in the 10's, since we were running PS2's.
He must be running some sort of drag radial back there for sure.
If you can get me more info on what he has done to that car, I would really appreciate it. It sounds like he has the fastest SLR out there.

 

hey Louis, No its on PS2's it is a sick car for sure! he leaves smooth and then tromps on it! He did some minor work to it, pulley updated trans, thats really it, Mercedes cant figure out why its so fast as well, I know i have somewhere a run of his when we went to the track when he did his 11.0 at 129 he is a pure joker, pulls in techs the car after 1 1/2 drive, pump gas 94 goes right to the line, lays down the pass, and then laughs at me cause he opens his trunk, filled to the max!! i sware no room in it for nothing, boxes, boots, shoes, clothes..

That could very well be the case with many of your races, but in this particular case I said that there has to be something wrong with "that SLR/Driver". Your car has K24's in it, right? If you do, with all due respect, you are not trapping at 128-129 mph with your car. In a roll on, a stock K24 turbo car (I don't care what other mods it has) will loose to a stock SLR (both drivers being of equal experience) every time.

 

he was an older guy who had won the Sebring race in the past. very cool and nice guy.
