I purchased a 95 993 a few years ago, that was track prepped by Peter Dawe! The car was sorted out extremely well! I would recommend him!
Congrats on the car! Did you pick it up @ Manhiem?

Wow. Great find! You found the exact car i've been looking for. Can you PM me who you went through to get the car at auction + fees?

Thanks in advance!

Yes I got the car at Manhiem. I did not go to the auction Highline Imports in New Jersey got the car for me. I bought 3 Porsches from them and have not lost when I sold them. One I had for 2 years and put 11,000 miles on it and I sold it for $3000 more than I paid. There web address is Highlineimports.com.

Peter Dawe used to red a place from my brother. I know he hates liquid cooled Porsches but I still might take it to him to see what he thinks.

i think people worry too much about mileage on these cars, it really should not be as big of a factor in making a buying decision as how well it has been looked after, dme report, overall condition, service performed and how often etc

How were you able to get all the service records on an auction car?

The car was serviced at the dealership since new. Also the car had the manual with all services listed and stamped by the dealer. The car was owned by porsche financial when it was at the auction. So it was either traded or leased.

i just bought the same x50 car, polar silver metropol ( wtf!?) blue leather, alcantara roofliner etc but with slightly lower mileage 27k, for 47k and who knows, i might have "slightly" overpaid which is expected from a dealer, but one drive and i bought it on the spot once told i could get it "certified and purchase the full pcna warranty for 3k extra, so i figured, hell yeah.. but you killed that deal! ( or your wife! did? proving only all the good ones are taken! ) i've already used with great success my pcna warranty which "saved" me MIN $6k on a 2nd gear popout issue ( watch out on hard shifts! ) which has now lead to an oil leak which is NOT the RMS! ( thx god! )..which is being repaired at this moment also under warranty! ( whew! ).. problems aside, these guys at the dealrship where i bought it ( a plug for auto gallery in LA ) are REALLY going above and beyond, it's astounding although we are all getting just a "bit" tired of seeing each other so often, but that aside, they're takin care of me as if the car were brand new!

i would NEVER advise anyone to buy these cars without a warranty, either aftermarket or better still pcna's, but that just been my experience..but with my newly replaced gears and synchros , and all this recent service work. it's just..better than ever.

all that other stuff aside, congrats on a KILLER deal. i can't wait to begin to mod mine, but given my recent experiences with certain "issues" i'm not doin nothin' until that warranty expires. though i'm thinkin about body stuff first anyway,.., good luck, it's an amazing car, as you know!

We're they able to show you what they paid for the car? Or did they set the price @ 39k + auction fees?

If you pay them for auction service you will know what he paid. Then he charges a fee. It is totally worth it. A 02 turbo went for $32000 in feb. 58,000 miles. He will send you a list of what will be at the auction and what has sold at auction (around the country) and for what. Auctions great a 1995 viper with 46000 miles $18000 in january and the car was real nice.

I would have prefered lower miles but I only put about 2500 miles a year on my porsche a year. I blew an coolant line the second day I had the car so The place I bought it put a warranty on it. I don't know how good it is. 3 year 36000 mile.

I just bought 02 arctic silver with 27500 miles and 1 year on the certified preowned warranty included for $51. This car has good history, clean carfax. Black supple leather and Bose upgrade, acantera roof and 4 new tires.
I figured, based on other sales I paid a bit highbut the new tires, and CPO warranty did it for me. I have had a new Porsche (Cayman S) and the ability to drive in to the dealer and say "fix it please" is a GREAT feeling and worth the premium. Especially with an "older" that is built near the limits of it's capacity.

Basicically flawless, beautiful and straight.
