Trying modified GT-3 front Control Arms

In my quest to get rid of the push in mid-speed to fast sweepers once I get back hard on the power I am going to install GT-3 front control arms with a monoball connection to the subframe. Two reasons:

1) with the stock control arms I can only dial in 1.5 degrees static neg camber in the front. I want to be able to experiment with something in the 1.75 to 1.8 range.

2) with the OEM rubber bushing connection to the subframe I believe I am getting significant deflection in the rubber bushings at high lateral loads. This causes the camber to change from the static 1.5 degrees neg to a setting that does not get me optimum tire contact patch to road interface. I have verified this with tire pyrometer checks. I am actually hoping that with the monoball setup that I can get away with only running around 1.5 degrees static camber as things will not deflect nearly as much and therefore I will not need huge amounts of static camber to compensate.

I am hoping that this does not have the consequence of causing too much road noise or vibration in the cockpit...we shall see...

I am also going to look into Nyliner nylon bushings with metal support sleeves and zerk fittings as an alternative if the monoballs wind up being too extreme for a street car.

Anyone been down this road?

I have. Too much noise, well that is subjective. There is definitely more noise, however not so much more that I would go back.

Chad,

Have you looked into the Nyliner bushing option?

I have looked into them and I understand they are quieter with just a small sacrifice to performance. I believe they would be exactly what you are looking for.
