Anyone interested in these photos should probably save them soon.
So far GM has had them taken off every corvette message board - luckily it will probably take them a while to get to a Porsche board.
Supposedly they're real but the only difference is that the torque number may actually be 500, not 475.
Additionally a club racing version of the Z06 may be released with 550-600hp.

I'm assuming you bought the 01 Z06 when it came out, correct? Why doesn't GM produce a car right the first time out? Who knows, but if for '07 they increase the horsepower and sort out some of the potential bugs, it will be just like their past Z06 creations.

You are both correct.
I did buy an early 01. The HP and re-ring situation was irrelevant to me though. I modified it fairly early so it did not effect me.
I have learned from past mistakes that 1st year vehicles are generally problematic. The manufacturers fix the early issues and make a better product after that first year.
It is just sooooooo hard to wait ...
