Yes, I was told this was a $500 fix. it's cheaper to lower the window then raise it

Related window operation question
A somewhat related question:
The normal window-door operation is explained above and known to all of us with 996tt's. Additionally most of us know that if the battery loses charge we can introduce current through a location on the fuse block to open the trunk to access, and charge, the battery.
If the door is locked, the window closed, and there is no charge in the battery how can the fuse block be accessed? The door can be unlocked with the key but what powers the window down to allow the door to fully open. Remember the window is normally up and trapped in the black channel that is fixed to the body.
Thanks for the answer.

Worst case scenario is to have all doors and windows closed and open the front hood, disconnect the battery and close the hood...Even though i believe that after you unlock the door and lift the handle the door will open even if the window stays full up...On the other hand closing the door is impossible without lowering the window...Two days now after i my attempt to close the door and hear the "gap" sound i remember to lower first the window...Stupid microswitches...It seems that each door has 3 microswitches...One for outer handle, one for inner handle and one to identify if the door is open or close...The later is the most expensine while the others cost only a few bucks...

Figure it out yet?
Were you able to figure this out? I'm now having the same issue. Before I close the door i have to lift the door handle a bit so the window lowers a 1/4" then close the door then let go of the handle. It's PITA...Tell me you have a solution outside of the $500 stealer option.

I would start with the battery low option. It could be a signal to the driver that you are not getting a fully charged battery and we are just overlooking information programmed into the ECU for our benifit.
