We won't be getting any more 275 Dunlops this year, and they would have to be STRETCHED onto an 11" wheel anyway. and 285/30, and 285/35 are not available at all. That forces you to change rim size. It's the best thing to do anyway. Why:

1. Reduced chances of damaging wheels/tires during dismounts.
2. The cost of mount/dismount twice a year adds up.
3. What's your time worth?
4. BETTER TRACTION! Wider is **NOT** better in the snow.

18X8.5 Mille Miglia CUP3 $259.00 each
18X10 Mille Miglia CUP3 $279.00 each

I agree with all the above, however, in my situation, the stock wheels would be my dedicated winter tires as I have 19" summer tires. I guess I don't have much choice, unless you can suggest something else?? Also, is your price above accurate for the rears.....The website says $424 each for the rears.

If this is the case, I would just sell your stock wheels and buy the 10" for the winter.

The 10" rear Cup 3 uses a 21 mm adapter/spacer (from H&R) that we charge $72.50 each for.

My stock sport technos come with spacers from the factory, will they work and what is the correct price for the 10" rears??

I don't know if the Sport Technos spacers will work or not, as I don't know the center bore of their wheels. My recommendation: buy the Cup 3 wheels and the spacers, and send the spacers back for a refund if you don't need them. Our adaptors are guaranteed to be the best quality and hub-centric to the wheel. I can't speak for the quality of the ones you have.

Sell your OE hollows.........or commit them to track use with Sport Cups
I've driven all-wheel 911s for yrs in WI snow (great autocross practice . .....we all have our opins, but personally I go to 17" 8Js all around (and spaced out) on dedicated rims.....then run 235/45 Pirelli 210/240s, or Blizzaks.

It's only for 3-4 months/yr and this set-up drives just fine dry........and in the snow/ice she easily leaves trucks behind.....and they can't believe it

Turbo w/winter shoes.

What size spacers do you use?? Are there any clearance issues going with the 17's?

Will the set-up work for a Turbo "S" with the PCCB's? The brakes need a larger clearance

We don't carry a 17" for a turbo. You'll have to use spacers.

Clearance (I assume you mean to the calipers?) has nothing to do with going to 17"......whether 17, 18, 19 it has only to do with the particular wheel style (ie wheel center) and the offset.

Example........these particular Stosek Monoblock 8J wheels require only 7mm spacer up front to both look the way I want, and clear the front caliper.......(total offset 43mm).

Personally.........I was agreeing w/the earlier comment about wider not being better in the snow.........235s are great in the snow......yep they don't look mean & wide, but for 3 months out of 9........ that is not my main priority

Damon,

Can I go with the fronts 8x18 even in the rear if I use a spacer? Call me when you get a chance.

WHY?

The car was designed for a staggered fitment. The rear would be all over the place, and the spacers would have to be huge!

And would look like this.......

I'll bow out. Tirerack are the experts.
All I can say is.....works for me, whatever....."Rear would be all over the place" ....well I drive a 911 (of one desination or another) almost 365 and track cars.......if they handled like a b#tch I wouldn't put up with it for even 3 months.....winter driving is a hoot.

I started driving a winter fitment set-up like this winter 95 w/C4 993.

Yep, I'm a nut with far too many wheels and spacers, 'some' below (but in a few weeks I'll be down in the garage throwing a sim set-up on 3 vehicals.
Outa here.
