ARe the edges rolled? What's the process. There is good CF and Bad CF, and there is a lot of bad CF going around.
I've yet to see any hood under 1K make it a year and still look good. Most of them the resin goes down the crapper and they begin to oxidize quick.

last one for now
when i looked up the from the underside i can totaly see the weave of the cf.. it looks as if the whole actaul hood is made of cf and not a fiberglass hood with a layer of cf on top, the reinforcement though is made of fiberglass.. the one thing i liked too is that there are two small indentationson teh hood where you can drill out the mounting points for the porsche logo...
i sooo forgot to take a pic of the underside too...

darren sorry for the group buy confusion... as for the wieght savings i will have to ask them on friday when they test fit the hood on my car..

if your afraid to make a quality hood, and scared to loose money... (trying not to be mean) but thats just how the world is.. u have to risk things in life and especiallly in business. to make money... you dont always make money in every single business venture that you do...
I agree peter... prove it

Why? Cause I'll charge a boat load more to make them and mostly people just go after the "look" of the carbon rather than the quality and function. I cannot get back into that business again. Its way too risky with uneducated markets, no pun. Carbon fiber is awesome stuff guys but just because it's carbon doesn't give to the right too be a good part. As I explained in an earlier thread the things that make a good quality composite part are its low void content, matrix and matrix content, fiber orientation, grade of carbon (not grade a or grade b, that doesnt exist), and the process. Don't be lead on by vacuum bagged cause it doesnt mean **** and it doesnt do anything for the part except conform it to the mold. When you see "grade a" carbon you should run away cause obviously that person has no clue how to grade carbon and I am willing to bet he isn't using the highest grade carbon in a 450 dollar part. Carbon is graded by its tensil modulous which is the stiffness of the fiber. Standard modulous is like 33 and high is like 42 I cant remember but basically the higher the modulous the stiffer the fiber. The stiffer the fiber the weaker the fibers are (tensil strength is lower). So if you are buying a ultra high grade cf hood you are buying an ultra high probability for it to crack and shatter. However, you are buying a fiber glass hood so I guess it doesnt matter. Anyways, I don't know guys. I don't need to show you my stuff for you to know I am capible of making amougst the nicest stuff out there. Seriously, I am open to entertaining questions if you have any one the subject and want me to review a product for you. Email me at S62m3@aol.com or call me at 775-232-0640 and ill be happy to tell you anything i know about carbon.
