Ruf R turbo vs GT700
How would I (GT700) stack up against a Ruf 550 power conversion. Some employee's at RUF were telling my friend that it could destroy my car.
The reason they gave was that the 550 power conversion delivered more torque??
I've did some really hard pulls against some really fast cars, please tell me this is just a sales pitch.

Who did you talk to? Were these the guys at Ruf Auto Centre in TX? They have been honest with me.
I had a modified AWE 997 Turbo, with chip, intercoolers, upgraded turbos, etc, and my current car is much, much faster. One thing about Alois Ruf - he has always lied about his horsepower and torque figures (in a good way). My current RTurbo has much more horsepower than advertised, and the torque pulls right from the beginning and is steady throughout.
The RTurbo has Ruf's choice of balanced and blueprinted 911 Turbo engine, Ruf transmission and shifter, Ruf upgraded turbos and camshafts, rear and front spoilers, etc. It also has the integrated rollcage, and feels like "riding on rails." The engine is unlike any of the previous 15 911s I own or have owned - it is liked someone polished it with a toothbrush. It also has Brembo 8 piston GTR brakes, front and rear.
But I am biased. Although I suspect my car will be around longer than the aftermarket-modded Porsche turbos.

Oh yes, one other thing. The top speed of my car, tested at Nardo, was 215 mph. Anytime you want to race, let me know. But it has to be on a road course, not those silly 1/4 mile runs.
Also - see this YouTube video at the 'Ring', with Stefan Roser at the wheel:

You mean those silly 1/4 mile runs where you would get your *** handed to you? I'm glad you like your car, but it's apparent you don't know what a fast car is.

Based off of the OP's question, he means in a straight line race...which is what most people refer to when they say "fast". I, along with most people, consider a "fast" car to be one that runs very quickly in a straight line. I consider a car that goes around a road course quickly, but not all that great in a straight line... to be a great handling car. Lotus Elise's handle extremely well, but they are certainly not "fast" cars.
Not to mention a 1000hp TT would probably overheat after 1 lap on the Nurburgring.
I'm confident it's the latter.

Look at the table from Rennlist.
R550 is there.
The closest to a GT700 is Eclou's AWE 700.
The Ruf runs a 7.2s 100-200 Km/hr and the AWE 700 runs 6.0s. We have some GT700s on the board that have run low 5s 100-200s.
