Drag Radials + Bulletproof Driveline = Broken Inner Axle Stub
Finally got a chance to work on the Camo car after getting it back from Puerto Rico and dealing with our move to a larger facility. That being said we had an issue with the driveline after lifting the wheels at the drag strip, initially though it related to the GT2 master cylinder, but once we put the car on the lift we foudn this.....
Tilton Clutch + Driveshaft Shop 1000HP Axles + Guard Diff + Mickey Thompson Drag Radial = Theres always always a weak link
Porsche factory inner axle stub decided it didn't like playing that day, replacement on the way and anxious to get this project going again. Looking forward to bringing it out to Mile Marker 1 event in October.
Anyone else had one of these break?

This isn't part of the axle itself, the axles held up perfectly fine. This is actually the piece that the inner axle bolts to that goes into the transmission / inner differential. I've been looking for an aftermarket unit, however Guard says they no longer make them, hopefully it was just a fluke occurrence but well see.
Nero was driving the car at the time so I'm not 100% sure of the occurrence but it was likely a 5-6k RPM launch on sticky radials. He slipped the clutch, but apparently came out a bit to quick.

Hopefully it's a 1 time occurance, a result of age/deterioration otherwise bulletproof axles won't be as much of an upgrade for the heavy drag racers.
