They sent them back to Imagine auto, Stephen at IA has sent them to Borg Warner to see if they will warranty them (hopefully this will all be done quickly).
Has anyone else had their turbos go bad? How many miles did they have on them before going bad? Did warranty cover it? Etc. tia.

Why the heck doesn't Porsche water cool the turbos??
I could not believe that my 996 turbo DID NOT have water cooled turbos when I took a look after I bought it - its a no brainer to water cool with all of the water being pumped all around the car!
I just looked at page 2-5 of the Official Porsche publication "Service Information Technical Introduction" (PNA 488 120), where it advises the following:
"The speed of the turbochargers with the engine idling is approx. 8000 rpm and approx. 125,000 rpm at full load"
GREAT! - this means EVERY time I turn my car off (even after a prolonged cool-down), the turbos grind off 8000 rpm's worth of rotation with 0 psi oil pressure? - I had always assumed that turbos were barely turning at idle - but 8000 rpm no oil? - I sure hope that the Mobil 1 oil has some serious residual oil film strength left to protect the turbo bearing at 8000 rpm. I wonder how long the turbos spin after shutdown.
