Wheel suggestions for a 05 745li

yeah, 22" is pretty much standard for the 7, but you can do 20" for a more conservative look and still ride smooth.
i'd look at HRE, Hamann PG3, Radenergie R10, Zauber Gettin, or if you wait till January I will be adding some new relatively unknown brands to the mix

Definately go 22' as 20' looks pedestrian on that car. It just swallows wheels. I would look into HRE or ACS personally. HRE are pretty lightweight compared to other wheels but they are high maintence and cost a lot. ACS look great but are soft, so if you live in a pothole area I would avoid them. Try searching the internet for pictures of different wheels on the car. Here are some 20' HRE 547R on a 745 we worked on last year. As you can see, the car really makes 20s look like 17s...

A funny story I'll share with you all. When the current 7 series just came out, I was in Iran visiting family. Well, the last place I expected to see the new 7 was in Tehran, but lo and behold we're in traffic in the late afternoon on Pahlavi Boulevard and a new 7-series with the full Hamann program pulls up right next to us (just like the car in the picture, only in silver). Compared to all the POS cars there it was amazing, I just stared at the driver until he took off from the light. The car had the bodykit, wheels, exhaust, and the interior parts from what I could tell. When he took off my cousin goes "oh, that's what that car's doing here" and points to the Arab transit plates on the car. Apparently in the Emirates and S.A. it gets so hot in the summer that many come to Iran and can get transit tags for their cars for a period of 1 year (which can be extended indefinately with bribes of course) so every once in a while we'd see some really crazy cars.
