GT3 seats

I put carbon replicas in my DD. Its a little hard getting in and out but is more comfortable than standard seats once you are in, imo. My car is more masochistic than most would tolerate for a DD given the ceramic "off/on" clutch, straight pipes, and the seats but it suits me fine.
The seats saved me 64 lbs over the standard heated seats by my scale.

I have a pair of genuine, unused 996 GT3 seats which I will sell someday. I also have a pair of them in my GT3RS. Great seats, more communicative, and you sit much lower down than in other 997 GT3 seats. However, they don't fold, and are not as sexy as the 997 GT2 carbon fiber seats.
In the Rufs, I have their carbon fiber bucket seats. Both the 996 GT3 and Ruf seats are great as DD or long distance driving, but you do have to get the 'hang' of dropping into them and extracting yourself.

I got from Rottec. They were very reasonably priced and quality is good. The stock seats were 58lbs each with all hardware. The replica CF seats were 26 lbs each with hardware. So I save 32lbs per seat with the replicas.
Also notice my OEM seats were standard seats (not sport seats) which weigh the most of all OEM seats.

I have them in my car, and I like them. Great on track. I have driven the car 5+ hours without finding them uncomfortable. My wife complains that they press on her shoulders, and it's true that they do. I have a roll bar with bolted in supports, so I can't move the seats back. I place my hand on the doorsill and lift my legs up over the edge of the seat. It seems pretty natural after you get used to it...

I have the OEM GT3 seats and my car is a daily driver. I find them more comfortable than the OEM sport seats I had previously. My wife prefers them, as well. We have taken several "all day driving highway trips" and they are not a problem travelling long distance, either. As others have mentioned, you get used to getting in and out and once you are accustomed to it, it seems normal. Just like the GT2 clutch. They make the car a lot sportier for the operator. I really enjoy them and have no regrets.

I just installed mine 2 days ago - for me it's actually *a lot* more comfortable for DD duty. Just did a 4 hour road trip to Chiba (east of Tokyo) and it's fantastic, no back pain at all.

I have replica's and like everyone else said, they are pain to get in and out but feel great when you are in them. I drove my car 1300 miles in them no problem.
No one has mentioned their size...I'm 6'1 190lbs and they are fine, but if you are over a 36in waist or so they may be pretty uncomfortable...there is no give in the sidewall.
