996 front lip
#2
I bought an aftermarket one on Ebay from Bayson R Motorsports and I am very happy with it, got it the next day (San Jose to LA area). The only difference is that no metal reinforcement under the inlets. No big deal IMO. Fitment is perfect and finish is very, very close to OE. Tested at a track at 110MPH+ no problems.
Another member here on the 6 that I suggested BRM is very happy with it too.
Check them out on their online store, it may or may not be less than what is advertised on their Ebay site.

I also bought mine a Bayson, $99. I love it!

Maybe just another over engineered part. Check out this drawing http://dcauto.gotdns.com:4000/illust...ndex/526909811

+1 also got it off ebay and take me 5 minutes to install. The metal piece is to protect the plastic piece at the bottom of each opening.

got mine off of Ebay
Came in 2 days. Easiest install you could imagine. Looks perfect. Made in China but who cares for $130 delivered? There is always something scraping the lip and I am as careful as one can be....

This literally a piece of 8" or so metal support that goes directly under the brake duct openings. It is riveted on the factory lip.
Really nothing to even think about twice.
If you're super crazy **** you can take the reinforcement strips off your bent up factory lip and rivet them on the replica lip.
