Stiff clutch pedal even after changing the accumulator...thoughts?

Hey guys - I've had my accumulator replaced twice now in the past month. It will work great for a week or so, then slowly return to the way it was (hard clutch pedal in the morning on startup). Has anyone else had this happen to them or can shed some light on this situation?

Thanks,
Dan

Are you low on power steering fluid? If you are low check the resevoir in the trunk driver's side for leaks. If its leaking there your slave cylinder is also bad.

You could just have air in the system as well from replacing the accumulator, it may take several bleeds to get it all out.

I've said this in the past and will say it again...

When doing the accumilator, you should ALWAYS consider replacing the slave cylinder. You're already there, and its easy to go ahead and remove the slave abd replace it!!

I mentioned this the second time around to the dealer and they didn't think it was necessary despite my insistence on doing so. If they are going to replace the accumulator again, I'll be sure to suggest the slave cylander replacement again.

I would hope that they would've gotten all of the air out of the system, but I can't say for sure. I wonder if the previous owner had the same problem and just didn't get it fixed because they found that the clutch pedal housing was deformed...

hey mike, looks like it's time for me as I found some leakage in the last few weeks. what are the details on this evoms GT2 conversion? I definitely don't want to have to do this multiple times...

So I got some unfortunate news from the dealer today. They told me that the distribution block that supplies fluid to the accumulator failed. Quoting $2000 to replace...ugh

Yup, just beware that the trans has to be removed and also the power steering pump has to be disassembled to do the conversion.
