Proto Customer (Todd Knighton).

has tried a couple different turbo set-ups and has run deep into the tens with it.
The turbos on that day were 30/76 which are challenging to spool up with the Tippy.
He is changing to 30/71's

It's surprising to me that he has 30/76's and is still in the 11's at only 130MPH. I would have guessed a better ET with a much better trap. I think this just shows how well the 24/18G's perform for a very basic, somewhat inexpensive turbo upgrade.

Or it was a bad run. Shouldn't a 30/76 easily trap over 135?

I agree John and thanks Marty for clarifying. I did not even hear the turbo upgrade, getting old my friend It should easily pull upper 130 to lower 140 I think, no?

The guy was like literally 81 or something and who knows what the track conditions or shift points were. I don't believe that one taped run is an accurate indicator of 3076 tip performance.

Thanks for the info Marty - all said it's actually quite impressive he put up that number considering the conditions, one shot, pressure of the TV show, etc... Interesting video, thanks for posting.

Still a very nice car and a smooth pass, I wonder what rpm he launched it at? Did not seem very high?

Very interesting comment. Life does change when you hit a higher sense of thought. I can't wait to learn this type of non concern, wake up feeling good instead of competitive.

Danyol,

Thanks for posting this video link. I watch pass time quite often and have been waiting for a Porsche turbo to make an appearance. I must have missed it and it was great to see this clip. Very cool to see an 81 year old doing this, too!

Broker404 is infamous around these partsBroker404 is infamous around these parts
When he said stock engine he was probably referring to the internals. But that means nothing on a 911 Turbo considering it seems like we have cars with around 700hp on stock internals on these cars.

It's funny how most people have no idea about how much the stock internals can take, so they'd never guess a car with only bolt-ons could be that fast.

Would be funny to see their faces with a pass by the Sledgehammer, nothing like a 9.7x to mess with their heads

"Just an exhaust and some bolt-ons"
