The perfect launch
First of all let me start of with a huge hello to all forum members.
I am the proud owner of a 03 99tt and have been watching this forum for some time now.
I have a question for all you experienced turbo owners. What is the best technique to achieve the fastest 0-60 time? If you launch hard then psm jumps in and kills the power. Turn the psm off and you lose to much time through wheelspin.
Furthermore let me point out my car is a stock K16 apart from a techart exhaust. I am considering installing bigger turbos and a few other mods to make things more interesting. The new Alphas have caught my attention. However, the K24/18gs have proved themselves already. To cut things short would 600-700hp be too much for a daily driver??
In heavy morning traffic would it be too much? The car is manual. How would consumption be affected? Would my petrol bills shoot up?
Can't wait to hear from all you guys. Thanks!!

That is very true
So from what I have read you have to let the clutch slip not be too aggressive.
What about my thoughts on the mods?? DO you think it's not a good idea for a daily driver?

600-700hp is fine for a daily driver depending on your own tolerance for noise and clutch stiffness I guess.
Either the 24/18 or alpha 28 turbos would be a great daily driver turbo. I have the alpha 28s and the low end power and quick spool make it great on the street with basically little to no other mods.

as a daily driver I would say keep your turbos for now and just do a tune and diverters along with your exhaust. Plenty of power for a DD.

From personal experience, you will need a clutch in short order if you launch your car repeatedly at the strip....especially with mods. Slow clutch slip will definetely ease the strain on it but times probably wont be as good. Mastering the shift points is tough because the rpms spool up so fast in 1st and 2nd. Better to blast from 50 to 120, or 60 to 130.
For DD, you will have a comfortable commuter and annihilate 98% of any challengers on the road. I recently torched a guy in a modded S4 with a liscense plate that read 'CYAAAA'. He was humbled.

Thanks for your input guys
There are so many options in the market for tuning. Guess I have to do a lot of research before deciding which route to follow.
Maybe a flash, some headers to start off with and then larger turbos etc.
