Ideas on how to mount a video camera
I will be attending our club's annual DE event at Mid Ohio Oct 31-Nov 1 and would like to get some video footage. I do not have a rollbar or any other way to really attach the camera in the center of the car. I do have a video cam mount, but I haven't found a way to effectively mount it in the side window. I don't want to mount it outside of the car. When it's mounted on the rear side glass, you end up with a view mostly of the driver, rather than the track. I just wondered if anyone has come up with an innovative way to mount a camera. I could mount it in the rear window upside down & use quicktime pro (which has a way to invert the video).

Hi Mate,
I use a similar camera mount although I haven't stuck it in the back of a 996 as yet.
Here's some ideas for camera mounts and angles. Hope they are of some help. You can do a lot more if you go for a dedicated bullet camera setup (tacho, passenger foot well facing driver, under front bar facing forward, left, right and rear facing cameras for overtaking etc). For a quick 1 or 2 bullet camera setup you need something identical to this, although you will need an external microphone and long cable to the camera so you can capture sound.

I bought my stuff a few years back, it looks like you can get all in one intergrated bullet cameras now, and don't forget the "gopro" camera's
