Manthey Motors, havingt their headquarter at the Nurburgring, has released a road going version of the Vitaphone Racing 996 GT2 which has set a new benchmark in the VLN series, a 8:16.71 in race trim.
The M700 comes with a 3.6 liters bi-turbo falt-6 engine, 695 hp and 800 Nm and the 4WD of the two years old Porsche 993 Turbo. The Le Mans wide body is 100 mms wider and 40 mms longer than the serial 993 but 150 kgs lighter due to carbon doors and hoods. The curb weight including fuel is just about 1416 kg, weight-to-power ration comes down to just 2.0 kg/hp.
0-100 kph (0- 60 mph) 3.9 secs.
0-160 kph (0-100 mph) 7.0 secs.
0.200 kph (0-125 mph) 10.0 secs.
Vmax = 348 kph (217 mph)
The modifcations are quite expensive:
engine tuning and exhaust, 67,280 EUR
high-performance clutch, 1290 EUR
high-performance brakes, 4599 EUR
sports suspension, 2990 EUR
set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires, 9082 EUR

Manthey is one very fine tuner and they are using all the years acquired in racing for street tuning now, same league as RS Tuning and Freisinger. FWIW 0-200 kph in 10 seconds is not better than the times achieved by some of the guys in the shootout who did 140mph in the quarter mile at 11s.

To even mention the Shootout cars and 1/4 mile times in the same sentence as the Manthey car shows a complete lack of understanding of what this car is about.
Sure, my old Turbo (which won the 1st Shootout) is faster in the quarter than this car also, but this car would spank, no make that annhiliate, my car around any given racetrack.
If Manthey had shown up at the Shootout, the results would not have been close... their racing knowledge and pedigree is beyond comparison, in my view, even better than RS Tuning. This car is a race car, not a drag car.

The car is truly badass, but I have to wonder why there´s such a discrepancy between the test times of this car and the ones posted in my first post. 9,3 seconds 0-124 mph would yield a low 10 1/4 mile time. Not as fast as Todd´s EVO GT850, but this car has 300 HP less, remember that.
