Blew my motor! :(

Kevin,
The increased rev-limit is the choice of the car's owner. I had a raised rev-limit in my P-car when it was on a stock motor, from 2 different tuners (GIAC and Proto). If/when I purchase another stock motor p-car, I will also have the rev-limit raised on that car as well.

just for curiousity what was the limit?

hey guys... you are correct, the car is sold pending title transfer today. A few things to note: I am not the first person to be placed in this predicament... my choices were basically do a motor build, buy a crate motor or sell the car as is. I lose my a** on any of these 3 situations obviously, but selling the car in the end made the most sense to me at this time. If I wanted to build an 800 hp vehicle, I most definitely would've allowed BBi to build this motor. A crate motor would've given me a new engine, but how long does that engine last even at moderate power levels (although the 2 year warranty was very enticing). Selling the car is the only option that doesn't put me in a situation to spend more money, and like many, money is tight this time of year. I was in a losing situation no matter what.
There is good news though. The person that purchased this vehicle is a huge Pcar enthusiast. He will open this engine up at BBi, thus we will still be able to see what happened. He will do the right thing to my car, and build an absolute BEAST. I wanted to see her go to someone that would continue to build her out... and I am absolutely sure he will. I will be in close contact with BBi, both to monitor the progress of my "ex" car... and be there when the engine is opened up. Thanks everyone for your best wishes. "I shall return"...

the new owner is a stand up guy... and I definitely hope to at least get a ride in it when it's complete. He's on this board, I'll let him chime in with the build details when he gets it going. Yes, BBi will be doing the build. Can't think of a better shop to do it either. They've been really great throughout this whole situation.

I don't think anyonme here is judging you. I may or may not have done the same thing. We would still like to know what happened for the benefit of knowledge, based on everything that has been put out there. Good Luck with whatever you decide to do next.

I'll definitely be around when that engine is taken apart. There's that sick feeling in my gut from not knowing how this happened. I'll definitely take pictures and have some guys take a look so I can get some answers.
