need advice about purchasing 996 turbo

hello guys,
We need advice about buying a 996 turbo. there are 2 cars that we are choosing from the first one is navy blue with beige and wood interior has about 48K miles its 2001, FSH at the dealer body is perfect and has mods : K24 turbos, ECU reflash, exhaust , headers, (fabspeed) GT2 intercoolers 2WD conversion can be back normal AWD, 2nd owner, tracked one time.

The second car is a 2002 with 44Kmiles, smoke silver with red interior and aluminum, the car is bone stock, never tracked owner never speeds this car is around $2K more.

So what do u think guys what shall we go for? both in good condition , the second has a beeter color combination with loess miles on , while the first has nice mods on with a bit higher mleage and a bit lower price, please give me your advice guys.
Thanks

Hmm a beige + wood versus red ? Whoever ordered cars with these interiors cared not about resale value.

word... pull the numbers from a PPI and let them speak for itself for track days and how hard it was driven...

+ 1000000 to the above two posts.

You cannot trust what the mechanic at the dealership is telling you. Did they dump the DME and look for over-rev data? (Just for example) "The owner never speeds" Right. Here in the US it used to be "the little old lady just drove it to church"... for Porsches that has turned into "an older gentleman, a doctor, used to own it".. as if.

Personally unless I had perfect prior info, I would stay away from modded cars- ESPECIALLY in the middle east (where the abuse of high end cars seems quite acceptable).

Red interior does it for me, for 2 grand more that great, and no mods. So for the most part, you are getting a car, that you can do what you want to it as oppose to some one who played with the car for you....Beat it up reset all the check engine lights, and is now selling it.....

agree fully. i made sure to get an unmolested under 15k mi car so start from scratch myself instead of working off an abused car. because lets be honest, who mods a car and drives it slow... its a 911 turbo...

thanks forumdot for chiming in..... you are absolutely right, who tunes a car, and does even 90 mph, everyone i know who has tuned their car, wanted to go faster.... so if they did 150 mph before they will tune the car and now want to go
180 mph.... that is the point of tuning,....right?
rep points for that added.....

You would hope the PO did a mod on looks.
I'd go for the stock one and then mod it later if you wish.

The twin turbo with all the mods sounds like a beast and would be a thrill to drive. I love those cars and since it has the 2wheel conversion, it would be fun to get that thing sideways, just be careful and good luck on the purchase.
Thanks
