Thanks for the tips on this one. I am a new TTer and it has been driving me crazy that I can't get the tank full. Was getting ready to have the fuel guage checked.

My 996TT takes a full tank but spills a little at the of fueling, also, does the 986 takes more fuel in than the 996TT?

I'm still having the same issue at any position of the nozzle. Any ideas?

The one that works for me is turning the nozzle 90 degrees. Works every time

I just had this problem on my Turbo S. I hope it was just a glitch. I'll report back after my next fill up and keep the 9:00 trick in my memory bank.

And don't use the fastest click on the nozzle, use the slowest or the middle (if there is one).

I have this problem as well Porsche should have a fix for this. It is annoying but I am going to try the 9 o'clock suggestion next time.

Kevin at UMW explained to me that once the tank is half empty it calculates the fuel level instead of reading a float. This was his explanation after my fuel suddenly went to empty after his flash. Once I filled it back up, no problem. He did not say anything about not filling it up with the ignition on. I'm not grasping how that would mess anything up.

Somewhere between a right angle and up side down for the gas nozzle seems to work for me for getting all whopping 16 gallons in there.

9" O'Clock works every time. I've come to believe that the Porsche has a defect in that the vapor recirc system doesn't seal properly until you turn the pump to the 9 position. You can see that it seals in that position and fills up.

Engine on seems to help, but isn't as effective as 9 o'clock

I don't know if they really fixed it or not.

My father's 2010 997.2 C4S has the same problem so I had to teach him the 9 o'clock method.

It is a safety requirement for all gas stations.
