How is that important you ask? Well, if you are even remotely thinking about doing DE someday, that block is just not track worthy in the same way that the M64 is. The M64, which BTW, is found on the GT2, GT3, and the Turbo.
Oh, and why do you think on the 996 you can buy an oiling kit that voids your warranty but alleviates that oil starvation under high cornering load? Right, PAG knows that this is a problem with the M96.
Going from 996TT to a 997S is a step backwards. I am waiting for my 997GT2.

As far as the 997s being a step backwards I disagree this is a far better car in many many ways.
