Yea, I did the new, updated 997 tranny mount first. I could tell a difference in that car shifted down easier and more directly. Then I came back from that test run and installed the Wevo mounts. I think the thing to remember is that your suspension effects this equation of what the tranny/motor mounts contribute. As your suspension becomes stiffer/more capable (I have solid, upgraded dog-bones, H&R sways front/back with solid drop-links and PSS9's set to 2 and 3), the more glaring the weaknesses of the 996 tranny mount and stock motor mounts. As Mike has said these cars tend to porpoise, especially when you add horsepower/torque, which requires suspension upgrades, and for the more discriminating among us, better tranny/motor mounts.

I replaced my stock engine mounts with RS mounts today. I have 500# front and 700# rear springs. I've only driven around town for a few minutes with the new mounts so I can't comment on how the handling has changed. However, I can say that I have not noticed any increase in engine vibration transmitted.

Thanks guys. Likely going WEVO now.
Seems like a good tech could do it in under an hour...and charge an hour or so....

I wish I lived near Mike!

Just came across these dunno if anyone has tried these but they are pretty cost effective

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...TQ:MOTORS:1123

i msgd the seller and asked if these are OEM stock mounts or upgraded solid mounts and here was the reply:

These the the Heavy Duty Solid Mounts.
thats why they are an UPGRADE.

Buy now & they are on their way.

Best,

What about the tranny mounts?

Thanks for all the info... what is the recommendation for the tranny mounts. Seems like one should do both if going down this road.

Thanks,
Cliff
