What is the difference b/t Agency Power IC, and other much more expensive ones?

I posted the link above. They say $125-$225 for intercoolers.

Site says $125-225 for the coatings.
I personally like the looks of the BoostLogic intercoolers, decent prices as well, but like others no numbers. That said I've used their stuff before and I have trust. AWE also has intercoolers I'm interested in for about the same price. Neither of these help with the intake side of things though. I do think a coating might be in order however for whichever intercooler I decide to go with down the line.

Can anyone tell me what the main differences (size, weight and in terms of % of added flow i.e. a GT2's IC flows 30% better than a TT's) from that of a;
996 TT
996 GT2
Aftermarket Intercooler
I would assume an reputable aftermarket IC is better than a GT2's, and a GT2's IC is better than the TT's IC?
I am aiming to have approx. 550+RWHP, on my GT2 when my new turbos are installed, are the stock GT2 IC more than able to handle this?
Thanks

ummm, at 550 rwhp, I think you will be wishing for better IC's. The GT2 IC's are hardly an improvement over the std IC's. Porsche claims 10% but realistic reporting says closer to 5% gain, according to porsche mechanics I have asked.

Most of you guys know way more about this subject than I, so could someone break it down for me. Out of the whole power equation, what percent can be attributed to the IC's, as compared to the turbos, intake, programming, etc.?

I can't say if it is better, but if you plan on going big, then go with big IC's. I have the B6's which are basically AP's. If you have stock Injectors, I think the AP's are fine. My best trap speed with stock IC's was 119 mph on stock injectors. After about 4 runs, the speed would drop off to 116-117. When I went to the B6's, my trap speed did not go up, well it did go to 19.6 mph, but after 8-9 runs it was still at 119 mph. I never got the heat soak that I got with the stock units. I cannot say how good they are now compared to bigger units when you go to big power with big injectors.

yes, correct. if I were running the car on a dyno with a few pulls and fans turned up, there may not have been any difference in the two IC's. But these runs were 1/4 mile runs on an 85 degree day at 6000 ft. (DE 8500 ft)

my opinion about ICs...
most of the overseas(Asia) made cores leak... according to my fabricator who worked for 4 years at a shop that uses such cores... he said that 9 out of 10 cores leaked between the bar and plates where they are glued.... With the ones we use( BELL cores made in Texas) its the other way around... 1 out of ten leaks...
just wanted to share some comparison info...

Does anyone even sell any with overseas cores. I thought all the cores here were made in the US.

doubtful, the core in these pics appears identical to my $75 ebay special
B6 core:

ebay special (china core):
great for pressure drop...not so much for heat transfer

There is almost no regulation on what a vendor can say about where it was 'manufacturered'... Indeed (and this is just a hypothetical), Vendor A can claim their product is "built in the USA by Vendor B", and Vendor B can order parts from china all day long, and slap a 'made in USA' label on them- maybe add a few items to the kit, or post process them. Nevermind that Vendors A and B are all one common ownership/management. (This is JUST hypothetical, not making any accusations about any of the board sponsors.)

We buy or cores from Gerhart the owner of Bell Intercoolers... We weld them in house and pressure test them to 35 psi...
Here are our findings on our 3.5's vs stock... and thats still using stock 1.8" inner diameter hose connections... (we make them for both stock hoses and big mouth 2.5" piping).. on a 18g car peaking 1.15 bar on pump gas that dynoed 564rwhp. same car nothing else changed...
