What would make you not buy a 2004 996 TT with 75k Miles?
It just seems like a lot of miles. I haven't looked at it yet since it's 2 hours away from me. I know maintenance is key to reliability in higher mileage cars. At this time I have no idea how well it was maintained.

I dunno.....as parts, particularly motor parts, are what are expensive with these cars, for 40 large I might look at something like an '02 with 20K miles....not much change in the car between 02 and 04.....just my .02...

Personally, I'd pass even at $40k? Why?
The older I get, the more I keep resale value in mind. Although it's tempting to say "I don't care...this car is for me, I'll keep it until I die", that's neither practical or likely. So, I like to instead think about things that I do indeed want (color, options, etc.) but work within a framework of thinking about being able to re-sell the car should an emergency arise.
With a 75k mile 996TT, there is obviously going to be a market...but it's a much smaller market than for a car with 20k - 40k miles out there. So, unless you're OK with the risk I'd suggest waiting for a lower mileage example to come up or work on the price even more. Obviously there is going to be a price point where you just cannot resist, but for me I think it would have to be lower than $40k to assume the future liability of having that kind of mileage on the car. Good luck to you!
