My materials science is a bit weak, but isn't the AL alloy of 6061 expressed in various tempers (e.g. T-6)? Meaning that the "T" is a temper, not an alloy (e.g. 6061 or 7075?)

Just clarifying; aren't the strength properties and brittleness are directly impacted by the specific temper?
