yes big difference but for those who like sound vs performance 300 are fine...
actually, California requires 400 cell count

these are the headers for my custom turbos but late next week Ill be showing off my direct replacement headers.. similar to these....

Being from the great People's Republic of CA I have been interested in the exhaust specifications that pass smog checks. From other threads I have read people here are getting away with using 200 cell cats.

Are you saying that in general CA requires 400 cell cats to pass smog or do you mean the type of cats that you use need to be 400 cell?
