I think you can start with "Dan is a parts reseller." Jamie, ever hear of Agency Power?" Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't Dan own AP? are they not a manufacturer?
"Mobile phone marketing?" His companies did over 10 MILLION DOLLARS in sales last year. If he did that with a cell phone, he oughta write a book and book time on CNBC.

Listen, I'm not bashing. I complimented him on successfully transitioning from an unrelated career into the aftermarket performance parts business. But look at the comments in just this one thread - i.e. skandalis447. He exactly made my point. Patching together parts that aren't designed to go together - creating other headaches and costs - doesn't happen with an R&D focused shop that installs and sells tested systems designed in house to work together. At the very minimum, a customer should expect an owner to know how changing one part effects the performance and reliability of related parts. In my opinion, just because Vivid offered refunds doesn't change a thing - it only proves my point.

You completely missed my point(s). And even if you did follow, a parts reseller 'owning' it's own outsourced fabrication is quite common. It simply allows the business to book better margins on products sold to customers who value price over R&D. It doesn't make them a tuning shop.
