never realised how much of a difference tires make
ive tried a bunch of tires on my turbo
on my 19" wheels, ive had toyo t1-R (garbage)
michelin ps2, yokohama's, and continental contisport 2 (pretty good )
the most ive ever gotten out of a set of rears was about 6,000 miles
i had a blow out a few days ago, and decided to put my 18s back on...
instead of going with a street tire, i decided to give the michelin sport cups a try..
all i can say is, i don't think i'll ever go back to a street tire again
these things grip like mad
i just did an alignment to compliment the tries and the car has never handled better
the response from the steering wheel is immediate, and it feels like the grip is limitless
the tires are loud as hell, but thankfully my straight pipes compensate for that
i was told there is a NEW sport cup on its way... any truth to this ?
btw, im running 235/40/18 up front, and a 315/30/18 in the rear on a stock 11.5 inch rim
looks like **** but feels great

R888 are awesome too. I've been on 245/40/18 and 335/30/18 for 3 years now. Spent a fair bit of time this fall and last fall in wet conditions, barely above freezing (+2'C - +4'C) and felt surprisingly comfortable with the level of grip, particularly given my cars power level. I will never use an "all season" tire again. I've never tried MPSC - just the RA1's and R888. From my reading, I believe all R-Compound tires, in Europe, have to change some of the chemicals used in the compound. I assume this to mean all offerings will be updated to the new European regs (?)

Steve,
Are you wearing out the tires? I guess I mean are you doing burnouts and fishtails all the time?
The rear tires go fast, but they should last 10-12K miles... You may want to make sure you don't have too much camber or toe in your alignment. Unless you did something on purpose to improve handling at the detriment of tire wear.

...ever since i tried R comps i have never gone back. I have to set of stock turbo wheels....m cups for the street(btw i dislike this tire, not enough grip honestly), and some V710s for the track, next some R6's

+1. I've had MPSCs before and hated them on the street.

Love me some MPSC, now if only Michelin would bring the bigger 18" sizes back. They are still better than street tires in the cold, but not good for accleration runs with lots of torque.
Suck in wet, but there is not a more precise treaded R-comp out there. Those things are scalpels. However there are better overall tires for the street.

I have run them about 2 months so too early to tell about wear. They have phenominal grip in the cold or hot. They are fine in the rain, even heavy rain, as long as I drive sensably. Best tire I have used and I have tried several.
