Flat Spot Stoppers?

Looks like I am going to the Middle East again for a while, suffered some bad flat spots last time I went, does anyone have any recommendations for some flat spot stoppers? Griots sells these for $259/4 , any experience with these or others? Jacking the car up would be an option, but a pain in the *** for those taking care of my cars in my absence.

Thanks.

Chris, Sorry to hear you're going back...be safe man!

I would just over inflate the tires...don't put it on jack stands as you'll ruin the seals in the suspension.

I wonder if those would really work. I'd consider getting a set of cheap ebay wheel/tires for the duration and then selling them when you return.

I've used these with success in the past. They were former sponsors a while ago...

www.raceramps.com/flatstoppers.html

Similar price, $259...
Hmm...by the look of it, I think RaceRamps is the OEM for Griot's. The flatstoppers, ramps all look like similar products.

Ditto. I just stored my tt this weekend. Put the tires at ~50psi.

any worries about the bead busting at some point? I know that you can overinflate tires, but I have no idea what level that is when the car is in motion or stopped. Just curious.

The bead wont break unless you crank the **** of the air past 60+ psi. Stock pressures are 36 front / 44 rear.

wont break the bead when you hit a pot hole it bursts the tire probably higher then 50psi all the time.

usually takes close to double the pressure or more to break the structure of the tire, and then the bead dont break usually the side wall

Heard this from the Michelin rep.

The best and cheapest way is to get two or three thick carpet squares stacked onto of each other, fury side up. Drive on top and bingo the carpet with depress and keep the tires from flat spotting. Isolates the tires from the cold floor too obviously

I have been using this method every winter and it works great.

But hey if you want to spend $250 on something special great, I would prefer to spend the money on a few good bottles of Burgundy Pinot Noir...

There's nothing wrong with being frugal man. It affords me and friends stellar Vegas trips & the activities related to pictures of mine you have seen.
