The most time consuming part of this job is finding the components with the proper specs. Then finding a company that will sell to you and just 4 of them. So many different grades, strengths, and bearing types of rod ends. Also parts for a track car may not be satisfactory for a daily driver that sees chuck holes, railroad tracks, bumps, extreme changes in pavement from overpasses, etc. rain, snow, road grime, brake dust. Track cars may stress the components more but a street car will beat them up and pound them more.

I ended up taking off a stock dog bone measuring it, and basically duplicating it and making it adjustable for length using parts from race car parts suppliers. 5 different suppliers to find the parts I wanted and needed. These are a relatively small volume item and that's why those that sell them get $1000/4. The numbers aren't there to order rod ends and jam nuts by the 1000s.

What is the size of the insert that goes into the helm joint to fill out the space where the rod end mounts to the car? Is the correct term for this a "tie rod insert" or "tie rod spacer"?

Misalignment Bushing ID and OD of the

The ID will be 12mm to match the OEM bolts and the OD will be to fit the 0.625" bore diameter of the rod end. The misalignment bushings should fill a gap of 1.5" total.

Where to get bushings prefabbed? I don't have access to fancy tools. The rest of the parts seem easy enough to source. If anyone lnows please pm or post

Thanks
