Didn't even notice it until it was pointed out here on this forum... I haven't been around here long, but it appears that each owner of a year type can make a case for their car being "the best year of the 996tt". I've been told the '01 is the lightest. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Post up some pics when you get it done.

Can do! Actually my son wants to do a photo shoot when it's done so we should have a few.

I was thinking you could of got a 997tt by now also , but you wouldn't be having nearly the fun you have been describing on this thread!

Ok, we went and drove it today and were seeing 1.4 bar in the turbos for a split second every so often when it was pushed to the max. It immediately backed down to 1.1 for the rest of the "pushing hard" runs. It's 50 degrees outside. Could this hurt the engine?

any word on how much power your car is making or do any 60-130 runs?

Did you keep AWD or do the RWD conversion? How much could you lower the car? I have similar mods and make rubbed a lot with the PSS10 and GT3 sways...I had to get the adjustable drop links.

Thanks!

I'll let my son jump in here in a minute so he can tell the technical stuff. We haven't dyno'd and no 60-130 either (Don't want to go to jail!)

John,

Thanks for the kinds words and nice shout out! I'm not sure how easy it will be for you to slow down on modding, I spoke with your son and he's going full throttle

Hey guys this is the son speaking. To answer some of the questions. I would definitely refer to Vivid for the dyno numbers. I am sure they are relatively close. The 1.4 bar for a second is on pump gas and that is why I am concerned. If i push the car I see 1.4 bar for a split second just as my dad was saying right around 4400 RPM in second. After that I point normally seeing .9- 1.1 bar. And I am sure that the ecu is taking care of the extra pressure by dumping it as we have no ebc on the car to bypass the safety. Other than that car is lowered to where right now fender to floor is 25" both front and rear. We will be changing the height a little this week to get the nose a little further down ( the rake is slightly rear biased) and raise the rear so we can take out a little camber. Right now rear camber is about -2 degrees which makes the car handle twisties phenomenally, but will probably wear out the PS2s in about 5000 miles. Raising the rear should tuck them in a bit and give us a little more adjustability. We are going to try to shoot for -1 to -1.5 . I love driving the car just don't get to do it enough. I'm a captain for an airline in Houston and spend 4 days out of the week down there and just 3 here in Lubbock with my wife and 3 month old daughter.

Okay, so now I've really gone nuts! We just upgraded the entire speaker system for the Kenwood with an amp, sub, and components. I can hear it very well over the aftermarket exhaust now.

On top of that, ordered a Precision Porsche GT2 wing. I gave up on the Aerokit due to the $$ and I still would like something in the fixed position in case the rear spoiler lifts ever went bad again. You all said this was an addiction and I'm beginning to agree. I am up to 1/2 of the purchase price on upgrades but it's getting close to the way I like it. Now, if I can only find a 997 SSK, new turbos, flash, etc, I'll be finished.

John

PS Will probably be listing the PP Strosek styled wing in the for sale area soon...
