10.5 et with a28 turbos (no nos)????

saturday at Fontana there was a guy with a silver 996tt, he said he was not too happy with his low 12 second run, beacuse he normally runs in the 10's with a 10.50 being his best time at Bakersfield. He said that he tunes
his own car as he worked at GIAC in the past. what do you guys think.

Is that 1/8 mile???

I dont think that there is an car here that has a GIAC tune running in the 10's not even a high 11.
Weather he is a board member or not you are correct in calling him out.
There is a Board member here that i have called out on numerous occasions to race me at the track or where and he supposedly has 700whp build but a famous tuner here and he has backed out EVERY single time.

So good for you in calling it BS.

What was his name? My best time at Famoso was a 10.89 @ 133 with GT28's. I almost know everyone in Socal and can't recall a 996tt hitting this e.t. there. Is there a time slip?

I didn't get his name, I told him that if he had a video of it he should post it on 6 speed, because it would be the fastest. His reply was the forums are all BS.

I think RenntechV12 ran a 10.7x on GT-28 based turbos so I quess 10.5x is a tall order but maybe possible with excellent driving.

I see at least a couple problems though: 1) If he was capable of 10.5s why would he be running 12s? 2) Anyone who totally dismisses the value of forums is either very poorly informed or does not want to truly share their results...

Vince ran 11.0 @128 with tial gt28 on street tries (kumho) and full weight with sub box and all his junk on 996tt Tiptronic car. why is it hard to see a 10.5?

his 6oft was 1.9...i will ask him to post his slip.

This is true, I have run consistant 11.1-11.3 @ 126-128 traps. My 60' times sucked (1.9-2.1) because I had cheap *** kuhmo tires and no high stall tq converter so there is a slight delay then the boost finally kicks is when launching. I am sure If I can get my 60' to 1.5 to 1.6 seconds I would be fairly close to a 10.5 et. However, I am unhappy with my trap.

Bro, you forgot to mention, I usually eat light that day and take a dump before I run. Thats my way of weight reduction.

Palette, Thanks man. I see what you mean. People BS a lot on the track there is no way that he is going to be running that bad that he looses a full 1.5 seconds in the 1/4. Unless his 60' is 3.5 or something.

As much as I despise GIAC, I did 11.48 @ 126 AWD on race file 2 years ago. I couldn't come close to this in 2009 in 2WD on pump file. That being said, 10.5 seems like a stretch.
