WOW. Just....WOW!! It gives me great pleasure to know that the Turbo engine is based off of that motor, but that body is UfB (un-f'in-believable).

they look unreal in person. i saw one at a local showroom here that wasw on display. think it was the 996 variant. nto sure though. the acr was then sold and shipped off to California i believe for the new owner.

They were a road going "homologation" special built by Porsche to qualify the chassis for the LeMans race. If you get a chance to look closely at one it is amazing to see how much 993 chassis is at the core of the car. It won LeMan on the 50 anniversary of the company, in 1998 I believe. This was also the last car that Porsche used to race in the top class.

Alan McNish/Laurent Aiello/Stephane Ortelli took first in a GT1,
and
Jorg Mueller/Uwe Alzen/Bob Wollek took second in that same race, in a GT1.

The car was sold by Auto Salon Singen www.auto-salon-singen.de Click on to Porsche, then GT1. The available Veyrons are also there.
