Turbo intake pipe prototyping pics

hey zippy, I used to use those for tips (and my own back in the day). The reason is it was somewhat flexible and would work on those platforms that had less room than the 6speeds. It never blew any MAF's etc... It worked decently well for those cars.

Don,
I always admired your plenum. I think it's one of the best designs I have seen, better than the modified OEM plenums. I prefer the hard piping for durability and longevity, but I can see how the installation with the flexible hose could go quite easily.

Don't want to cram up AMS's thread -some initial stock intake pipe pressure drop testing:

Well I guess you can say they work...and work WELL!
We were able to strap our 996 to the dyno today for some testing and the results were more than impressive.
The addition of the pipes raised boost a little from opening up the stock restriction. However it's clear to see these intake pipes are making BIG power! The K16's are REALLY starting to shine!
With close to 2 bar of boost we actually hit over 680whp. Keep in mind we are still on the stock side mount intercoolers too. Once we get our IC's done I think 700whp on the billet K16 are going to be very achievable

i believe hes saying the pipes were a restriction and that without changing anything else other then the pipes the car now boosts .16bar more then before and also gaines power

almost .2 bar read it again 23.5psi to 26psi .16 bar thats a good amount enough to make more power for sure.
