Information is pretty spread out IMO. Some info here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ping-pics.html and here https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...a-markski.html - read the whole threads. It's been discussed a bit off and on. From what I have learned so far the pros are that the intake side is greatly freed and the chances of blowing a MAF are pretty much eliminated. You aren't going to max out the MAF. Downsides would be cost, possible driveability issues at low RPMs\idle, filters that can get dirty quickly, possible water issues, tire fitment issues potentially, fewer people that will tune it, and that there's some wiring involved. I do not know cost - yet. If you're going to do this do intercoolers too IMO and be sure you compare the cost of this with some of the other methods for freeing up the intake side that maintain the OEM MAF and filter as well as the difficulty in doing the install.
Personally I'm leaning towards doing the fenderwell intakes and blow through Ford MAF. Depending upon power level desired this may be the best way to make th epower you desire. AMS is about to dyno test their solution for the stock intake style so pay attention to that thread - their solution is likely cheaper and MIGHT allow you to reach your goals. Others have different solutions too but for sure the intake side is a problem that needs to be resolved somewhat early on it seems - the AMS testing will hopefully help us figure out just how early on and to what degree it's an issue...

OK, thanks, this clears some things.
I had blow-through MAF on my 944 turbo, hardware and programming was done by Vitesse Racing. Although 1980's Motronic can't be directly compared to ME7.8, I had no issues whatsover in terms of driveability or failing components. 3" piping all the way, except turbo intake, which was 4", like the exhaust...
What I really wonder is that why no-one hasn't yet done a 997 turbo airbox conversion, where turbo's are fed from the box ( OEM filter, big pipes ) and the MAF is just in front of the TB? This would clear all pre-turbo issues you mentioned.

you have the innovator Proto
Markski
and now BBI i believe
for stock style y pipe
you have a few
Kevins UMW style,
Proto's kit which is actually the cheaest of the kits by alot
S car Go intake
EVOMS
and there is a DIY version out there you can find it if you search hard enough.

What, exactly, is your set up right now? There are several options right now. Blow through is best for bigger turbo set ups. For Gt 28's, 24/18's I would look at:https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ping-pics.html
