I just purchased a GT 2. What do you guys recommend to soften the stock exhaust noise. In turbo noise O.K.. Cruising at 70 mph in 6th gear will drive you deaf. Car never moded....an 03 with 10k. Thanks for your help

Are you sure the car is not modded? When I was stock I had to look at my tach to make sure the car was still running.

I am not 100% sure that it is not modified. I will have to ask someone more knowledgeable. I have owned several turbos. (3.6 and twin). The GT2 seems
to have considerable more power, as I remember. Thanks for your idea.

Can't be the stock exhaust if it's loud by any standards.

Stock tt and gt2 are too quite cars for supercars...100% your car has an exhaust...(or a leaking exhaust)...

Has it had the TJW mod done to the stock exhaust - look up the read pipes and see if you can see a whole drilled through?..

Agree with the above comments - it can't be stock based on what you are saying.

As noted above - confirm you have stock exhaust. However the GT2 will not be as quite as the turbo, as it has no sound deadening material like the turbo, just carpet over the chassis. So it will be a bit louder than a stock turbo. If you find you have stock exhaust and it is still too loud for you then you don't have a lot of options, except adding sound deadening material, which adds weight and in turns defeats the purpose of why you got a GT2 in the first place.

Check you this link to Europipe and you will see db readings for Turbo and GT2:
