....I came acroos the video Sharkster posted from the shoot out.... I'm going to post my run I did video and time slip. I have the same 60 foot 1.74sec .. my MPH is only 3 miles off (this run).. I am doing 125+mph as well. but my 1/4 time is 11.5 sec.... about 1/2 second slower.
I used 93 fuel with fvd level 4 computer at k24 turbos,5 bar fuel regulator, evo dv's, gt2 intercoolers. THATS IT. 19 inch rims with yokahamas AVS. That day the car was only pushing 1.0 bars.. thats 14.7 psi. In the video they are running 20 to 24 psi... thats well over 1.5 bars.... and he has the EVO 750hp. what I do not understand is why his car is only doing 126 or 127 MPH trap with that kind of HP. My average is 123 to 125 MPH @ 1 bar(14.7).
I'm not trying to start a controversy nor am I promoting a product.... I was waiting impatiently for the shoot out and thought someone would run in the mid 10's at least.... with cars that had well over 650 rwhp.
...any comments.... is ther something I need to know? The reason i'm actually asking is because I'm looking to upgrade to the 750HP package.
thanks

A good question and nothing wrong with it.... I was running 1.4 bar but not with an auxillary fuel pump. Now I have that we'll see this weekend... It's still a learning process and especially so on the Tip. If you have a 6 speed then you'll have no worries at all with the 750HP packadge

General observation and thoughts.
It seems from the video that you are actually shallow staging your start? Maybe I'm not seeing the video correctly though. If the goal is the best ET stage back as far as possible and forget the reaction time.
I would think your car is capable of doing mid 10s easy and 130+ mph with your EVO package. We're getting high 11s in the 120+ mph range out of a stock 996tt X50 at 1400 ft above sea level.

I actually need to refill the bottle of NOS (and spray the heck out of it) and use it this time That does make a difference but yeps sitting there at the line isn't the best
The problem with drag racing is everyone assumes it's easy and there end up being a lot of coulda, shoulda and woulda scenarios
I do find it useful to test stuff out with tho.. Gives you an idea.

Markski,
I too am a bit confused...it seems that for 700 plus hp, an easy 10 sec 1/4 would be doable. Especially with a 3500 lb 996TT.
Most drag calculators call out a trap of over 140 mph and a 1/4 of less than 10 seconds for 750 hp.
Based on the trap speed and times, the dyno or the conversion factors seems suspect.
What does a stock 996TT trun in the 1/4...??
Marc

A stock 996 Turbo runs anywhere from 11.9-12.6 depending on who you believe in terms of the magazines. So to get the car from 12.4 in my case down to 11.05 (without full boost, yadda yadda yadda) isn't bad in my book.
The fastest yet recorded times have been 11.01 (EVO), 11.05 (me/EVO) and 11.09 (EVO). Of course there are cars capable of more. Then of course there was Tyson's old Turbo that did 10.8 or something last year (although people seem to want to dispute it because it wasn't at a drag strip).
Another perfect example of this scenario is the Car & Driver article with the 10,000HP shoot out from this month. The Henessy Viper and Lingenfelter Corvettes all with more Horsepower than any of our 996TTs still didn't break into the 10s. In fact, they were all slower than our low 11s....
