997 shifter vs 997 SSK

WOW nice Eugene I didn't know you had it in you. Teach that old man Sean a lesson.

Sean, I keep telling guys that "you don't know how bad it is..."
You seriously should drive a car with the SSK in it. They shoulda put it in from the factory, it's that much better than anything else on the market... Worth the $440 from Suncoast... AND you can sell the B&M to someone who just wants a short throw shifter... Sold mine for $150...
I have the 997 OEM shifter now, but it is being replaced with the PCNA kit (Cables/ Shifter). I already have the 997OEM shifter spoken for, but it'll be January at the earliest that I get the car back...

In the words of 50 cents, "I got the Magic Stick"....waitaminute, lets re-write that: "I got Viaaagra, I can hit it once, I can hit it twice...."

HAHAHAHA!!! You two KILL ME... Oh gawd...
Peanuts, 'er Sorry Paulie (Sean made me do it) I went from a B&M to the 997 Shifter. Night and day difference in smoothness of the actuation. However, the length of throw is quite a bit longer than the B&M. I was willing to trade it for just how smooth and fast you can shift with the 997. I've driven several 996 SSk equipped cars and they have the best of both worlds... Short travel of the B&M and the smoothness of the OEM stock 997. That's the route we've gone with on my build... Of course I won't get the car back until next decade, but what is a guy to do???

The 996SSK is a better solution than anything OTHER THAN the Cup-RS shifter/cables. If you're just doing a shifter instal, I think it would probably be 2 hours labor. The 996SSK kit is really nice, and works very well... No slop, no notch, and the perfect throw distance between gears.
The cup-RS setup is a "little" better. Not sure I "need" the cup-RS setup...

Mike is the 996ssk better than the 997ssk? I've heard the 997 version is much better.

I channged 997ssk over B&M. Better feeling & more precise. No knotchy feeling.
Check Suncoast P often. Sometime it has on sale. I got mine for $285.
Now it has 997 GT3 version which is identical, but plastic shift bushings are replaced with Billet Aluminum. Should be awesome.

Hey thanks the GT3 version sounds like the better solution.

Yeah, you had better get the billitt aluminum GT3 version so you don't wear out the plastic bushings when you drive yours once a month! [/sarcasm]
