Car dies when comming to a stop in neutral
It has been happening more and more lately. It used to happen once in a blue moon. As of lately It has been happening more. I took it to the dealer, and they found a Y hose ripped next to the DV's and they thought that would fix it, but it didn't. Today, I opened up the fuel tank to see if their is a ruptured in there like most have seen, and to my surprise everytihng looks good.
Any sugggestions guys ?
TIA

Thanks for the quick reply. They test for leaks and found the Y pipe damaged. That's all they found. The tech is a great lad, and always emails me pictures. But i'm still getting the stalling.

Great find, but maybe keep looking? Soooo many places for leaks. You found one, but maybe there's more? Other than that, not sure...Any codes? Even though there is no CE light, might still be a code?

He scanned for codoes, nothing he said. no CE light. I did get a code when i had my car parked for a few weeks but no CEL, i just saw the code as i was data logging. It wasent a garage queen, use to be my DD until i bought a Smartcar. The code i read was.
P1117 . I told the SA about it. He called back to confirmed and said the Tech found nothing abnormal.

there are multiple possibilities with P1601:
P1601: CAN timeout instrument cluster - signal implausible
Possible fault cause
♦ Instrument cluster faulty
Notes:
♦ If one CAN bus fault is stored, the cruise control system is out of
order.
♦ CAN bus faults may be caused by a control module reset. The
fault is then indicated as "Not present".
CAN timeout instrument cluster - open circuit
Possible fault cause
♦ Wiring harness faulty
♦ Plug on instrument cluster not connected
♦ Instrument cluster faulty

Mine we doing this a couple of months back - changed MAF (twice), all plugs, all coil packs and nothing fixed it - no codes stored however the ABS/PSM light came on when it died (usually approaching a junction when pressing the clutch) Cut a png story short I took it to a different Indi for second opinion the old chap their (worked on Porsche for 28yrs) had a bet with me over what it was because I didn't believe him - they changed a £9 part on the brake pedal switch that was sending incorrect info to the ECU - problem solved, couldn't believe it! Never happened since...
Good luck with yours.. May not be your issue but it's a cheap thing to rule out and common for these switches to create major headaches I'm told.

Janker,
Thank you very much for the info! I will try this and hopefully it works like it did for
you. I'm glad your issue is gone. Maybe it is a simple fix like this. Did you find yourself
pressing on the brakes in order to make it stall ? I can't recall if i press on them or not.
