What does the 997TT need to have?

The 911 turbo should go Air Cooled to restore it's former glory.

Porsche should sell turbos made by Ruf only. That with a low production number would do the turbo badge justice. Anything else is a waste of time.

-Less weight-like at least 200-300lbs less!!
-4.0l 500hp or whatever, as long as it gets close to 500
-Give us(USA market) the Euro suspension
-Have an optional sport suspension as they do in Europe
-Better sounding exhaust
-Much Much better interior that doesn't mimic the Cayenne and new boxster as the 997 does.

What should it have and what will it have will be 2 completely different things.
I'm betting on the following:
450-460 hp
New electronically adjustable suspension from 997S
Same interior as 997
Additional 100 lbs of weight
Most things you guys are describing will be in the 997 GT3 whenever they release that.

It would be good to see more displacement in engine size with less boost. This way the tuners and aftermarket people can do more for HP for those that are interested.
Have slightly higher HP and similar weight, but provide options for after market weight reduction to get the car below 3000 lbs.
Build the car with less potential for rattles as the car ages.
If Porsche was to build the car stock with too much HP and too little weight people would be killing themselves.

The Lexus LF-A " halo " sports car concept to be shown next month at Detroit will have 500 hp and reportedly weigh under 3000 lbs , with a $100,000 price tag. So it looks to undercut the Turbo by 600-700 lbs and the Z06 by a hundred lbs . Lighter weight via newer materials in a clean sheet design to meet safety rules - something the 911 can't do because of it's age, I'm afraid.
